
SES Robert Cross
PAE -MC Chief EngineerUSMCRobert L. Cross serves as the Chief Engineer for the Portfolio Acquisition Executive Marine Corps. In this role, he provides senior technical authority and executive leadership for all U.S. Marine Corps ground and information technology systems. He is responsible for directing enterprise-level systems engineering, managing the full product lifecycle to ensure that warfighting capabilities are properly integrated and certified.
Appointed to the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Cross previously held the position of Deputy Program Executive Officer for Land Systems (PEO LS), where he managed all Marine Corps ACAT I programs. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Program Manager for the Global Combat Support System–Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), delivering critical system improvements. His earlier assignments include serving as a project officer for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Expeditionary Programs and Logistics Management and as the Deputy Director for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Study Team.
Mr. Cross began his acquisition career in leadership positions within Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA), including as the Product Director for the ACV program. He started his federal service as a structural engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from The George Washington University.
