Col Kenneth Jones

Col Jones graduated from Texan A&M University with BS in History and Political Science.

As a company-grade officer, his operational assignments included Forward Observer, Artillery Liasion Officer, Battery Executive Officer, 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines (Operations Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan and Iraqi Freedom); Headquarters Battery Commander, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines; Battery Commander, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines; and 26th BE MTT (Operation Iraqi Freedom). 

As a field-grade officer, his operational assignments included Executive Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines; Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, 10th Mrines, TF 9.7 Commanding Officer (Operation Inherent Resolve - Syria); and G-32/39, Fires and Effects Coordination Officer, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

His supporting establishment assignments included Operations Officer, HQMC Casualty Section, M&RA; Congressional Fellow, House of Representatives; Legislative Liasion, Combat Development &Integration (CD&I), HQMC; Artillery and ANGLICO Advocate, Plans, Policy, and Operations (PP&)), HQMC; and Military Faculty, Marine Corps Command and Staff College (CSC). 

His joint duties include GFM Policy, Process, and Technology Division Chief, Deputy Directorate for Regional Operations (J35), Operations Directorate (J3), Joint Staff.

Col Jones' civilian and military education includes the US Army Field Artillery Officer Basic Course (with honors), Expeditionary Warfare School (with honors), Government Affairs Institute Certificate, Georgetown University, Marine Corps Command and Staff Seminar Program (with honors), and an MA in National Security Resourcing Strategy from the Eisenhower School, National Defense University. 

Col Jones' personal awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with two Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon with Gold Star.

He is married to the former Lyndsay Mack of Hickory, North Carolina, and has three children: Elizabeth Ann, Sehleigh Faye, and Addison Kinsey.
