Director, Expeditionary Warfare

Brigadier General Meyer assumed the duties of Director, Expeditionary Warfare OPNAV N95 on 02 July 2025.
BGen Meyer graduated from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course in March 1998; he subsequently became a Naval Aviator in AH-1W attack helicopters.
In 2001, he reported to HMLA-167, MCAS New River, NC; deployed to Iraqi Freedom I, II, and IV, completed Weapons and Tactics Instructor course, and was the 2d Tanks H & S Company Commander and Air Officer.
In 2007, he chopped to HMM-365(REIN) with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2009, he served as MAG-29 Assistant Operations Officer, followed by duties as the HMLA-167 Aviation Maintenance Officer.
He departed MCAS New River for Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA in 2011 and earned his Master of Military Studies through the Marine Corps University. In 2012, he reported to the White House Military Office where he served as the USMC Military Aide to the President of the United States.
In 2014, he served as the MAG-29 Group Operations Officer, CO of HMLA-167, and 2d Marine Division, Deputy G3 before departing for the Eisenhower School, earning a master’s degree in National Resourcing Strategy. Following TLS, he reported to HQMC P&R, Programs Assessment and Evaluations in the Pentagon where he reformed the way the USMC planned, programmed, budgeted, executed, and audited Service funds.
He was subsequently assigned to I MEF in 2020, where he served as the Director for Expeditionary Operations Training Group, the CO of the 13th MEU (completing an ARG/MEU INDOPACOM deployment), and the I MEF Chief of Staff.
Arriving back at II MEF in 2024, he assumed command of 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade and duties as II MEF Deputy Commanding General. During this tour, he served as Deputy Commanding General Joint Task Force-406, Commanding General Task Force-Amphib, and Commanding General Task Force-61/2 supporting crisis contingencies in Lebanon.
He is married to Dr. Anna Meyer (DVM) and they have a son, Sam.
