Program Manager, MAGTF C2

Colonel Van Bourgondien is concurrently serving as the Program Manager for Marine Air Ground Task Force Command and Control (MAGTF C2) Systems, Capability Portfolio Manager for Marine Corps Integrated C2, and Direct Report Program Manager for the Marine Corps’ contribution to Project Overmatch, Program Executive Office - Land Systems (PEO LS), United States Marine Corps, Quantico Virginia.

Colonel Van Bourgondien was commissioned in 2001, designated a Logistics Officer in 2002, then was competitively selected as an Acquisition Officer in 2015. Colonel Van Bourgondien’s military experiences include multiple combat deployments supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and various tactical, staff, and acquisition assignments with I Marine Expeditionary Force, Training and Education Command, Marine Corps Systems Command, Headquarters US Special Operations Command’s Special Operations Forces Acquisition Technology, and Logistics, and PEO LS.

Col Van Bourgondien’s acquisition experiences began with his assignment to MARCORSYSCOM in 2012 as a materiel management officer and acquisition logistics analyst for the Assistant Commander for Acquisition Logistics and Product Support after his successful completion of the Commandant’s Graduate Education Program. Following his subsequent selection and transition to his new career field as a Marine Acquisition Officer in 2015, he was transferred to SOF AT&L, serving as an integrated product lead for multiple tactical C2, communications, and intelligence projects, an Assistant Program Manager, and finally the Deputy Program Manager for SOF tactical communications, intelligence, and information technology systems for PEO C4. He was later assigned back to PEO LS in 2019 serving in command (critical acquisition position) roles as the Product Manager of Air Battle Management and Sensor Netting for Program Manager, Air Command and Control Systems and again to MARCORSYSCOM in 2023 as the Program Manager for Ground C2 systems for the Portfolio Manager of Command Element Systems. After the merger of the Marine Corps air and ground C2 acquisition portfolios in 2024, Col Van Bourgondien assumed the position of Deputy Program Manager for MAGTF C2 Integration and was competitively selected to serve as the Commander, PM MAGTF C2.

Col Van Bourgondien graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia with a baccalaureate degree and graduated with distinction from the Naval Postgraduate School with a master’s degree. Col Van Bourgondien has participated in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Service Chiefs Fellowship and the Secretary of Defense Executive Fellows Program with the Boeing Company. He is a Defense Acquisition Corps member and an Advanced Practitioner (formerly Level III) in the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Fields for both Program Management and Lifecycle Logistics.
