
Col Scott Shadforth
Director, Expeditionary and Maritime Aviation - Advanced Development Team (XMA-ADT)Colonel Shadforth hails from Merritt Island, FL. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
Colonel Shadforth served his fleet tours with HMLA-269, the 6th Marines and 3rd Marine Raider Battalion, and completed deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, he completed a tour as an H-1 developmental test pilot with HX-21.
Designated an Acquisition Officer in 2016, Colonel Shadforth served in multiple acquisition billets before assuming command of the Marine Aviation Detachment, Patuxent River in June 2022. He assumed his current position as Director, Expeditionary and Maritime Aviation - Advanced Development Team (XMA-ADT) in June 2024.
In addition to his undergraduate education, Colonel Shadforth holds a Master of Science in Engineering Systems from the Naval Post Graduate School, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. He is a graduate of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course and the US Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS). He is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and DAWIA certified Advanced in program management and Practitioner in test and evaluation. His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
