
Capt Eric Jones
StudentCaptain Jones was born and raised in Trumbull, Connecticut. He attended Officer Candidates School in 2017 and commissioned through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in 2018. He completed The Basic School and Combat Engineer Officer Course before reporting to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
While assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Captain Jones served as Company Executive Officer for Bulk Fuel Company, Platoon Commander for Company B, Academics Officer for Pioneer Platoon, and Company Executive Officer for Company C. In January 2022, he deployed to Norway in support of Exercise Cold Response 22, serving as a cold weather instructor.
In July 2022, Captain Jones was assigned to Site Support Battle Creek, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Battle Creek, Michigan, where he served as the Assistant Inspector-Instructor for Engineer Support Company.
In July 2025, Captain Jones reported to Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, Virginia, where he currently serves as a student.
His military education includes the Combat Engineer Officer Course, Winter Mountain Engineer Course, Curriculum Developer Course, and NATO Winter Instructor Course. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Captain Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University.
