Col Scott Beatty

Director, Sustainment Branch, HQMC, Instillations and Logistics

Colonel Beatty was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps in 2002 and assigned as a Ground Supply Officer.  Colonel Beatty has served in a variety of billets and commanded at the platoon, company and battalion level.  His employment includes Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, 2d Supply Battalion, 3d Supply Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 18, 3d Marine Division, Marine Corps Combat Development and Integration, as an Economics Instructor at the United States Naval Academy and in battalion command as the Inspector-Instructor of Combat Logistics Battalion-453.  He graduated from the Eisenhower School at National Defense University in 2022 and was subsequently assigned to the Joint Staff as the Branch Chief, Future Logistics Concepts in the J-4. His work on the Joint Staff included concepts development, capabilities development and wargaming.  Following his assignment on the Joint Staff, he was assigned to his current post at Headquarters Marine Corps, Installation and Logistics as the Director of the Sustainment Branch.  Colonel Beatty deployed in multiple billets to include as an Embassy Liaison Officer in Chad and Niger, as the Operations Officer for a supply distribution center in Al Taqaddam, Iraq, as an Operations Research Analyst in Al Asad, Iraq, the Philippines, and in multiple logistics billets in Okinawa, Japan.  Colonel Beatty is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Villanova University, a Masters of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Masters of Military Studies from Marine Corps University, and a Masters of Science from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School.  

Colonel Beatty’s awards and decorations include: Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with two gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (one gold star), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal (with one gold star).

Colonel Beatty is married to Mrs. Jennifer Beatty of Norristown, PA and has two children, Alexander and Katarina.
