Major General Ellison’s command of the 3rd Marine Division is the culmination of a career forged in combat and steeped in strategic planning. He has led Marines at every level, from the streets of Iraq with the 1st Battalion, Seventh Marines, to the mountains of Afghanistan with the 2nd Battalion, Sixth Marines. His command of the Seventh Marine Regiment and the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C., instilled in him a profound understanding of the warrior ethos that defines the Corps.
Having served at the highest echelons, from the Joint Staff to the Commandant's personal staff, Major General Ellison brings a unique blend of strategic vision and frontline experience to his current role.
