MajGen Mark A. Cunningham

Major General Mark A. Cunningham, a native of Lancaster, Ohio, enlisted in 1992 and was commissioned in 1996 following graduation from The Ohio State University. His intelligence career includes pivotal roles at U.S. Southern Command supporting hostage rescues, adversary analysis at NASIC, and a 2011 combat mobilization to Afghanistan as a Senior Intelligence Analyst. A seasoned commander, he led the Intelligence Support Battalion (ISB) and 3rd Civil Affairs Group, where he also served as the III MEF G-9 and commanded a Combined/Joint Task Force for Exercise Cobra Gold 2020. Prior to his current assignment as the Marine Corps Director of Intelligence, he served as Deputy Commander, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve.
