Base Access – Domestic Visitors
Base Access Protocols Have Changed for non-DoD ID Holders – please read carefully and thoroughly
For U.S. residents, the easiest way to access the base is to travel with a colleague who is a DoD ID holder (CAC or TESLIN). Under provisions of the DoD Trusted Traveler Program, those in possession of a DoD ID can vouch for the base access suitability of up to 5 people accompanying them in the same vehicle, provided all non-DoD ID holding travelers are in possession of one of the following acceptable forms of ID:
- Federal PIV Cards – DHS, FBI, DEA, State Department, etc.
- Personal Identity Verification Interoperable (PIV-I) Cards
- Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
- Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Card from another military installation
- REAL ID or Enhanced ID
- Federal ID
Those without DoD ID who plan to travel independently will be required to visit the Marine Corps Base Quantico Visitor Control Center (VCC) to pick up a DBIDS pass for the duration of the event. Doing so will require fulfillment of the following steps:
Step 1: Complete DBIDS pre-enrollment here to receive a QR code.
DBIDS pre-enrollment expires 30 days after submission, so we advise you apply less than 30 days from when you plan to pick up your pass.
For the DBIDS pre-enrolment process, you are required to list a sponsor. Please enter the following information in the spaces provided:
First Name: Alexander
Last Name: Hetherington
Contact Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 2: Complete and print the SECNAV 5512 form. Take this completed form with you to the VCC. The SECNAV form will also require you to list a sponsor. Use the same information as above.
Step 3: Register for Modern Day Marine by following this LINK. Once registered, print the registration form or bring a cell phone screenshot with you for presentation to the VCC.
Step 4: With your DBIDS pre-enrollment QR code, SECNAV 5512 form, and proof of MDM Registration, visit the VCC to pick up your DBIDS pass. This can be done up to 14 days in advance of MDM. We encourage locals to pick up their pass prior to the event to cut down on long lines at the VCC on show days.
